The Mirror

it's so high

my fear i've tucked away

i wait a minute in another place

the echoes and splashes

take me to the cave

liquid crystal, though

i have no reflection

my thoughts reverberate back to me

too loud, like sirens

now someone approaches

oh no, he's brought my fear with him

i lower my lenses so he won't see

my mind is paralysed

of its own accord my body leaps

in the eternity of weightlessness

i spread my wings

the music of the swan

sings of what is done and gone

framed for impact

eyes wide and calm

I see Her in the mirror

brazen and whole

i drowned my fear

for fear it might drown me
