You slip me notes under the table
I'm finding ways to write you back
I'll let you know
They hold me over
in times of change & uncertainty
countless times I've leaned on you
even though you weren't there
but my voice over your notes
tides me over
moon like presence
holding me in the dark
I cant help but notice
something's up
it's all gone strange on me
life
I'm not sure about anything
right now
I hope you understand
The summer is almost over
but I'm not going anywhere
I've got to stay focused on what's most important
my education is what matters most to me right now
But I can't keep my eyes off your performance
everywhere you go, you're on
life's a stage
you're gonna steal the show
I hope we can write one another
I'll wait to hear from you
clearly I need the advice
of a wise owl
little Pooh Bear without a honey pot
I worry I project desires on you
tell me when you're done with it
You're so perfect to the public
how much of you is the real you?
I don't mean to say you're a phoney
hell you rule the scene, only get that way by being original
but I don't think you'd give them everything
keeping your privacy intact
I know you must be pure of heart
I feel that
I don't want to put words in your mouth
misinterpretation
I offer my words here for you
out in the open
I'd like to be more direct in some ways
You're a hero to me
led a world to happiness
saving souls from silence
role model in a sea of snakes
Everything you get you give it right back
you're untouchable
cause everything you touch turns to gold
I don't want to slow you down
I don't want to interfere
I just want you to be happy
like you find your dream girl
and make it up another level
To know me is to know
I don't know myself yet
To pass me notes is to understand
I'm on some sort of day to day
I do know I've got an original take on Earth Day
my loyalty lies with the Blue Planet
I hope we can take money
out of the equation.
